REAL BRIDES - Hannah Elliott
Posted by Amy Bellamy on
Hannah and Jonny Elliott said 'I Do' at The Moorland Garden Hotel in Yelverton on 20th April 2019. It was a beautiful sunshiny day filled with love, laughter, family and friends.
Hannah explains how they chose this stunning wedding venue, "After working in many hotels in the city we chose to visit this venue as it was a place neither myself or Jon had been before. We made an appointment and during the visit noticed how friendly everyone was. They were willing to tailor make a wedding package to suit our needs, and having plenty of bedrooms it was perfect for our friends and family who were travelling. The grounds at the hotel are beautifully landscaped and with the classic decor of the ballroom it was exactly what we were looking for"
She Said Yes to The Dress
Hannah wore a stunning blush fishtail wedding dress - and choosing it was quite a surprise, even to her! Hannah has spent most of her career either running or planning weddings so thought that she had seen all the wedding dresses there were to be seen, however she was to be wowed by the dress which she first tried on.
Hannah explains, " Laura advised the best place to start was to choose different silhouettes to decide which shape I prefer. As soon as I put the first dress on I knew it was ‘the one’ I don’t even know how it happened as it wasn't even a dress I had originally pulled. I couldn’t believe after trying on all the other dresses, I was about to choose the first ever wedding dress I tried on. Everyone expects you to wear the traditional white dress but I think going a little bit 'off page' and choosing a blush fishtail dress was the best decision I made"
Flowers and Details
For her flowers, Hannah used Hunny B Florist in Elburton. The bridal bouquet and posies for the bridesmaids had sweet avalanche roses, Amnesia roses and gypsophila, whilst the groom and groomsmen had individual roses with gypsophila. The colours of the roses matched her blush wedding dress perfectly and made a beautiful scene for the photographs.
Hannah's elegant up do and the was created by Lise Bridal Hair and she chose Lucy Hart as her make up artist for her big day.
Luckily Hannah's godmother is a cake maker (SB Cake Design) and so she made the stunning cake for the couple. It was red velvet, lemon drizzle and chocolate, and came adorned with a tiny model of a sausage dog because the couple's beloved pooch couldn't make the wedding! So lovely :)
The talented Thomas Frost was the couple's wedding photographer and captured the beautifully natural shots of Hannah and Jon's perfect day. The pair aren't big posers so this natural reportage style of photography worked perfectly.
Top Tip
Managing a budget and not letting your wedding day costs spiral is difficult so the couple worked out a plan of spreading the costs. Even though most suppliers request final payments 4 weeks prior to the big day, they said they found that paying a vendor off each month on the run up to the wedding day really helps with finances. Hannah also has this advice for brides planning their big day, "Remember its your wedding day. Don't worry what everyone else will think of the decisions made, as long as you are happy with the outcome that's all that matters. It is an added bonus If everyone else has a great time which I am sure they will, lets face it who doesn't love a wedding".
Dream Wedding Day
Planning an Easter weekend wedding, the couple expectedlots of rain. So much so that they planned an indoor ceremony, limited time for photos and umbrellas as back ups. Turns out it was the hottest Easter weekend in 70 years! The beautiful weather even resulted in a quick dash for fans whilst getting ready (trying not to melt).
Hannah reflects, "With friends and family coming in from out of town the night before, celebrations started early and it was so nice to be surrounded by our loved ones. The best part of our wedding day was of course our ceremony however seeing our friends and family truly enjoying themselves throughout the day made all the planning worth while. We couldn't fault anything on our wedding day, from the venue and location, the sunshine, the scones with cream & jam and of course Cider and Prosecco on the lawn was a major win. Our wedding day was perfect!"
Plymouth's Favourite Bridal Boutique
Speaking about her experience with Amica Bridal Boutique, Hannah has these kind words, "My experience with Amica Bridal has been fantastic, so much so I didn’t even think about going to any other bridal shops. Everything was seamless from the initial appointment and communication through to the final fittings and alterations. Amica Bridal has even dry cleaned my dress and its now stored away in a beautiful keep sake box. I would highly recommend Amica Bridal to all of my friends and anyone else who is looking for a personal experience on what is easily the most exciting shopping trip you could make".
The couple had their honeymoon in Hawaii and left the day after their wedding. Hannah says "Hawaii has something for everyone from luxurious beaches, land adventures, water activities, wildlife and culture. We had the best honeymoon and dream about it daily".
We wish Hannah and Jonathan a truly wonderful married life together and wish them all the love in the world. Thank you for taking the time to share your perfect wedding day!
