REAL BRIDES - Joanne Smith
Posted by Amy Bellamy on
Jo and Simon Smith tied the knot on 14th September 2019 at Tregenna Castle in St Ives. The couple chose this stunning seaside castle wedding venue because of the stunning views and the fact that couples can enjoy their wedding ceremony and the reception all under one roof. They also liked the fact that they were able to have an outdoor wedding ceremony under the Cornish skies.
Jo said that her Ladybird wedding dress was chosen because "the shape looked right on me, (it had) not too much fuss and the added straps made it perfect!" She said, "I just wanted to say a massive THANK YOU to Amica for helping me with my dress choice and alterations, nothing was to much trouble and I felt welcomed and beautiful in my choice of dress as I am always usually in jeans, Converse and jumpers/hoodies". She continues, "Your patience and knowledge of styles and what would suit is amazing, and you really made a first time wedding dress shopper feel at ease in your store. Your calmness in dealing with my two super excited best friends was amazing, who if had their way i would have tried on every dress in your store!" Wow thank you so much for the kind words Jo. We loved meeting you and your lovely friends and were so happy to help you say 'yes to the dress'!
When it came to her wedding day, Jo was lucky enough to have lots of talented friends who could help with all the essentials. The mum of Jo's sister-in-law did her flowers (vintage pink roses and white baby's breath), and one of her bridesmaids Mia is a hairdresser so was able to do the bride's hair on the morning of the wedding. The couple's friend Jezzie made the cake (they chose to have a top tier and cupcakes), and Mia the bridesmaid's sister Rosie is a photographer so she captured the whole day and was a guest at the wedding too! Perfect!
Jo said, "I hired the decorations from Infinity Event Hire - Vicky is amazing she has absolutely everything you can think of to hire and she sets it up and takes it away. The room looked perfect, exactly as I had described to her that I wanted. I was the best thing I did!"
When asked about tips for other brides-to-be planning their big day, Jo said: "Have the day you both want as it's your day and your families will enjoy it no matter what. Try and take it all in, and have 15 mins time out with your new husband alone if you can as it goes by so fast". Our Wedding Day was just magical and perfect and its still sinking in that i am actually married."
A huge congratulations to Simon and Jo! We wish them a lifetime of happiness and laughter! With love, all of us at Amica Bridal Boutique xxx
